Too Much Coffee

I just wondered if it's just me that does this.

When I get a new bag of coffee, I have to wait a couple of days for it to gas. I can't help but grab the bag and squeeze gently, nose pressed up against the one-way valve, searching for a fleeting glimpse of the delights to come.

I received my hasbean preorder coffee a day or two ago, but according to my valve-sniff, Steve appears to have filled it with sticky toffee pudding instead of coffee!

I can't wait!

Ohhh my no, this is a wonderful pass time, your not alone brother. Aroma was the first thing that got me interested in coffee. I love sniffing bags (shh don't tell anyone though)

I just learned something new here! Been buying beans from HB for a couple of months now but never had the patience to leave them for more than a day or two before opening the bag so imagine my surprise when a bag from a week ago had puffed up more like a balloon. Of course I assumed the worst, that the bean had started fermenting and that the bag would explode when picked up (vivid imagination, ok ). So when I cut open the bag I was more than pleasantly surprised by the rich earthy but citrusy aroma of the Yirgacheffee that I had a to make a couple of macchiatos with it right away, it was delicious. You seriously could get addicted to this stuff if you weren't careful!!

Bag sniffing is extremely harmful. The valves consists of 50% cocaine, 40% gasoline and 10% Kiwi bird beak. It'll eat away your brains and make you think that the coffee you subsequently make and drink tastes like broccoli (which the valve has made you think you like.)! It's a conspiracy really!

All joking aside Ola, your post actually made a lot of sense and I was beginning to feel sorry for people like Steve (which is not in my nature) who has clearly suffered the risks of his trade in supplying us with such decent coffee in valve bags. Clearly this sympathy was unwarranted

Mmm... broccoli. Just thinking about it makes me want a coffee. Now if I could just stop my nose falling off...
