Too Much Coffee

Looking for recommendations of roasters who will roast to order and ship to Ireland. Obviously HasBean and Square Mile go without saying, but I'm always interested in trying new things.

I've ordered from the US - Intelli and Terroir, and on the back of reading about the Taste of Norway thing at SM I ordered from Supreme in Norway.

So looking for suggestions... all greatly appreciated.

*EDIT* also - is it possible to get any of the popular Italian blends with any known degree of freshness - talking Illy, Lavazza, Segafredo etc?

I don't know much about the GB market other than what you mentioned, but why not give Walter a try at kaffeespezialitaet.at - he roasts to order (though it might take a few days) and is damn fine at it I must say.

For fresh italian stuff, it might be worth to check with Scott at HappyDonkey, AFAIK he also imports italian coffee.

Although he does have an 'Italian' blend in his inventory, I believe all of Scott's coffees are UK roasted these days. Hope that helps

We'll be getting some of their stuff for Taste of the West Coast.

Will have a think on online shops too.

I've only had Hairbender (brought back from the US by a friend), so can't comment on any of their other stuff, but it was a real cracker of an espresso blend. Very complex.

Ouch, just remembered it was mr Stephen Vick that personally promised me some of their coffees if i wanted to order some. And true, he also said, that they don`t do overseas officially.. sorry, my bad

I am happy to stick with HasBean (UK) and sweetmarias.com (USA). International Flat Rate 12lb box UK shipping from SM is under $4 per pound and I haven't been asked for UK import duties so far. I don't know if they ship to Dublin or if the shipping cost might vary from the UK cost.

Last time I ordered from SM, it cost me more per pound to ship 6lb of the 12lbs to a friend inside the UK!

I meant roasted coffee - not greens. Thanks though.

I've ordered from James Gourmet Coffee (the Formula 6 espresso blend) and Hill and Valley as occasional alternatives.

I think Hill and Valley might have changed their focus to trade as their minimum order is a 2kg bag now.

Not sure if they ship to Ireland or not.

Also, there is Origins in Vancouver... although there is no online shop, but the coffees are listed and you might try emailing them to see what you can get

I haven't tried anything from Transcend yet but its looking very promising

That not in the States then?

Actually we do have a member from Stumptown on TMC (isn't everyone a member ). Maybe if people express their desire to order from them, this might help to encourage Stumptown to open up sales outside of North America.

Transcend are great, as is Peter James!
