Extract Coffee Roasters?

Hi all

Anyone ever had coffee from these guys: http://www.extractcoffee.co.uk

They appear to sell at the Bath farmers market and since i live a couple hundred metres from there (Green Park Station) i figure i should give them a whirl.

The pacific espresso blend sounds interesting.

Sorry if I'm being picky but I think it is even better if they drop out the grounded option... I might be criticized as naive for the comment but I think that will give a bit more encouragement to people who don't want to spend money on grinders, which I think ( and believe to be true) is far more important than machines.


However, their beans look really yummy. :wink:

Don't be over picky .... even our wonderful Hasbean Steve offers grinding options and he sells both coffee and grinders.

Well ... i'm gonna head there tomorrow anyway and buy a few bags of their finest and see how it is.

I think dropping the grind excludes people from speciality coffee and thats a bad thing.

I've met the two guys who own this company and they seem like really nice guys and they do have some nice beans there.

I think most of us probably started our journey with ground coffee from people like Steve and the love grew from there. I remember wanting a grinder so badly after trying pre-ground speciality coffee, reading sites online and realising grinding to order was the only way to go. It seems so long ago, but the excitement still burns inside :D

Back on subject. ...

I managed to get out of work early and got them before they closed for the day ...

Bought 500g of both Pacifica and Extract blends.

Using the pacifica now .... very nice ... very smooth, dark roast, oil present on beans but not overly.

Definite choc/nut blend here ... very pronounced... works great in milk .. cuts through nicely and holds its own.

Will report on the other blend when i polish off the others

Ok ... update:

Finished off the pacific blend late last week ... very nice it was...

Moved onto the Extract espresso blend .... this is MY kind of coffee...

its a look deeper and richer as a plain shot ... much more than the pacific which i think overall is a lighter with more bright notes.

It works really well with milk ... its got a lot of punch and boldness ... very happy with having a local source of seemingly good quality and fresh beans.
