Cupping at home - you CAN do it

Having felt I needed to do something after Phil's request for cupping notes other tan Steve's which for obvious reasons could be seen by some as biased, I decided to try cupping a couple of my recent home roasts.

If anyone was worried about the process it is EASY. I read the guidelines in Kenneth Davids' Home Roasting book (bought it recently, good read), and the only tricky thing was setting my grinder lots coarser as I have fitted a worm drive to give finer control. The whole thing took me less than 15 minutes for 2 coffees. I used a cappuccino cup as I don't have the approved glasses, but I don't think this matters at all, apart from having to wait a little longer for the coffee to cool before tasting it when luke warm.

As for the tasting notes, I'm no expert, so I didn't bother with the correct terms, or worry about what you are 'supposed' to taste, and put down what I DID taste.

Believe me, if i can do this, then anyone can, so get on with it, and get your notes in
