Indian Tiger Mountain Arabica

Postby espressomattic » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:45 am

Another great offering fom Rocket!

19.5 mins in the Gene to just on 2C

Grounds: Caramel, Sweet Nuts

Big, thick long lasting crema

Aroma: Nutty

Taste: Earth TOnes, Burnt Caramel, Young Wine. no acidity

Very full mouthfeel with an aftertaste of Roasted Peanut.

Comes with a full on square kick in the nackers caffine hit too.

If anyone can get hold of this in Europe, then give it a try, it is quite simply a stunning coffee. SImple as that.

That they are mate. Also grabbed a bag of Gethumbwini (?) as well.

They were also good enough to tell me what went into their espresso blend:

This Indian, Gautamalan, Geth and some Brasilian.

It is a really rich blend, so those who say Kenyans do not work in blends, well they should come on down and try it ;)

I've tried it and they don't ;)

Seriously there are times in small amounts Kenya can work, but for me they bring more trouble than they do benefits. On saying this one of the UKBC blends I've done for the finals this week has 30% Gethumbwini !!

I don't believe you Steve. I'd have thought you rather kill the innocent than put that amount of Kenyan into an espresso blend :o ;)

Sometimes I just love my taste memory, everytime somebody says Gethumbwini I remember the cups I had from the first bag of Gethumbwini beany gave me more than a year ago!

edit: taste

This week I like my coffee luke-warm.

The blend down here has some real fruity tones, but it is really balanced by the Tiger Grrrrrr :P

I don't know the exact amounts. I think it is a scoop or so ;)

Looking forward to roasting the geth up tomorrow!
