hasbean Guatemala Finca - well behaved as espresso

Postby jon » Thu Jul 19, 2007 11:05 am

anyone tried this in an espresso machine? Just playing with a new grinder, so want something that works fairly well and predictably in terms of crema and so forth, though would be nice to try something new too :D

I brought a pound back with me. I'll roast it tomorrow and give it a try on the weekend. Also will try it in the AeroPress.
Three Francesconi (CMA) espresso machines - Rossi, San Marco, LaCimbali, Faema and 2 Mazzer Major grinders- CoffeeTech Maggionlino, Hottop, Alpenröst and HW Precision roasters.
I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

If you need something predictable and well-behaved while you adapt your technique to the new grinder, why not use an espresso blend rather than an SO?

Cheers,

Hugh

One of HB's blends? I've stuck happily with Daterra Reserve from HB for ages now.
(I am regrettably not on commission from HB!)

Cheers,

Hugh

If you're trying to dial in a grinder, i wouldn't recommend the new verano - i just found it requires an exceptionally fine grind! (Or thats maybe because i cleaned my grinder out beforehand).

Interesting espresso though! :)
