Best Of Panama Blend 2006 Lots...

Postby espressomattic » Wed Jun 27, 2007 6:51 am

Found these little beuts in the cupboard...

Casa Ruiz Great Mountain Coffee & Hacienda Palo Verde Finca Harman Lot#2.

Threw them in the Gene about 70/30 and had a stunning espresso this morning. A really bright, fresh tasting citrus laden, flowerful, aromatic exlir. Nice bright reddish crema and a very light body (Bit like Cakey ;) )

Taken to a Full city roast and pourded at about 35 secs. Lurvery!!! :D

Ya might want to see a doctor about that mate.
Three Francesconi (CMA) espresso machines - Rossi, San Marco, LaCimbali, Faema and 2 Mazzer Major grinders- CoffeeTech Maggionlino, Hottop, Alpenröst and HW Precision roasters.
I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

The Panama samples I tried were not so good Espresso but number 1, and 2 stood out as different, and although I cant remember its placing the Green Mountain was stunning.

I think I had four samples altogether, and I found them nicely different. I think they may have suited a press better because of thier brightness, but then I do like 'different coffee' in espresso and like to shy away from the norm you know. It's the rebel in me!!!!!

Looking forward to trying some of that Costa Rican you guys recently won. I think it is way cool yourselves and Rocket were in the same buying group. Cross hemisphere cuppings to follow then??? ;)
