Newbie advice on were to buy roasted beans mail order

Postby PhilSmith » Thu Apr 05, 2007 5:36 pm

Hello all,

Still fairly new to this whole "proper" coffee thing, and my I now realise my usual supermarket beans are not in any way suitable for pulling a good shot.
I guess the freshness of the beans is the important bit and as I don't have a local roaster, mail order has to be the next best thing.
I have searched the net and found a number of suppliers but have no idea which are good and which are not. Will they sell to me as a home user I will I have to buy shop quantities?
You recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Hasbean! (and check the links on the front page as there are others like Hill and Valley who lots of people recommend.)
This week I are mainly ready to get back to making muffins!"

another worth a mention ishttp://www.thebeanshop.com who have good quality beans and good online mail-order service from what i know, if not the range of steve. worth adding to the list of options, or trying the gourmet espresso blend at least. is one of the better blends around.

Don't think Halifax is particularly local to Crewe!

Paul see's he's north of the watford gap so it must be local. I'm off to feed my whipet and put on my cloth cap. :)

No, no, you're supposed to feed the cloth cap... it will starve and I'm calling the RSPCA now.

Cheers,

Hugh
