I did my lightest ever roast this evening, stopped just before the end of 1st crack . This coffe is Ecuador Vilcabamba “valley of longevity” from HB (where else?!). Steve's tasting and roasting notes said to stop just before or at the ned of 1st, so that's what I did. I must say the beans look much more even and smooth than I expected, at this stage a lot of beans are rough and mottled.
As we are away on hols next week, I roasted them to use in the caffetiere. As we are taking the other half's car (rather than my 2-seater) I might take the old Isomac grinder rather than pre-grind (like I have to if we take my car).
