Postby BazBean » Fri May 12, 2006 5:47 pm

.

Is is just me? but this has happened twice over the last month so i thought ask the question?

when trying a new coffee the first sip has tasted nothing special...but the second taste the flavours just seem to slap me in the face, is this common, is this something to do with coffee i have selected in general or i am again, just a bit strange?

this happened prior to stopping smoking as well so it aint that

Kind of like:

'Yeah it tastes alright'
'Bloody awful'
'Not bad'
'smooth'
'Sewer water'
'Gnats P**s'

Possibly the brain expects a certain taste, doesn't get it....so fills in the gaps incase, the second time it figures this is something new and wakes up/pays attention. Hence you suddenly notice the taste. Sort of like driving home, but not remembering the drive, you're doing something your used to and until something unexpected happens, on autopilot.

It's a theory anyway

But this from a guy who sells Explobeans.....well, take no notice of anything I say ever again

I did a wine tasteing today at a friends who is a wine merchant, and this kept happening with lots of the wines. Tastes grow and can explode in the mouth, and coffee is no different. All part of the fun for me. Lots of front, kicks in the after tatse all in the middle, terms I hear a lot.
