Tried two new beans, Comlombian Old Crop and Tanzanian...

... Peaberries, and the Peaberries are really good. Drinking my first cup of it as I type. Very typically african, high in acidity, but also with rich darker tones and not that black currant undertone that Kenyan AA and Yirgacheffe have.

Colombian Old Crop, what is that exactly, beans that have been lying around for too long, or? But OK, they are really mild and sometimes that's what people want. Hey, sometimes that's even what I want. Making a cappucino with them was a bit like making hot chocolate though. Only a lot better.

My mom got these for me (or us, we shared) when she was in New York recently. She did not buy Kona and that was on purpose. We both talked about it before she left and decided that while it is a great tasting bean it's not worth the money, even at american prices, and let's try something new.
Different beans and a frying pan, Zassenhaus grinder and a couple of moka pots...
