Too Much Coffee

I have just tried a single origin shot of this, I have used it in blends before, but never got round to trying it on its own.
It makes a pretty good SO, not as acidic as I expected. It is reminiscent of an Idonesian coffe rather than African, but cleaner. Lots of chocolate (roasted 30s into 2nd crack, not rolling, but gaining pace), and then a fruity (not unlike Harar) acidity. Very sweet too. I have been blending this with some Brazilian Cachoera, the sweetness of both beans working well, but the Bugisu with heavier body and some acidity fattening things up.

Sounds good - where you get the green?

The beans came from Sweet Marias, I use them to get stuff that Steve doesn't stock.

I've got a few SM random items coming over, as well as some of their espresso blends (curiousity and a need to make the required spend).

I've got access to so much at Mercanta that I daren't start spending anywhere else! That said I do sometimes want to try things people talk about online (hence some of the SM espresso blends).

Hmmm. I got some monkey cups. I like monkeys...

The trouble with SM is that the stock changes so often, there is always something tempting new on the list!

That's a shame, I was wondering how the SM's compared with the previous stuff you had. I got a fresh load in but it's nearly gone unfortunately.

I'm happy because I'm able to get Uganda Bugisu from a direct importer at very low prices. This direct importer Kawacom has many years of experience in Uganda, because he owned coffee farms there. He imports the highest quality. You can find Bugisu also at EBay...

Not sure if you have been fed a story or it's just a misunderstanding, but Kawacom has never owned a farm (coffee or otherwise) in Africa. However, as an aside, if you liked the Bugisu you must search out the organic OKORO, from northern Uganda and is cracking stuff. Roy at Kawacom would be happy to send you a sample I'm sure!
