My new beans from local Microroaster

Postby Davec » Sat Feb 18, 2006 3:06 am

Just a small Video of my local micro-roasters Espresso Blue blend.

The coffee is very nice indeed and the beans roasted just over a week ago.

The Alex doing its stuff, using a single pf basket, normally dosed, extraction of 1 oz. Crema around 14mm+

Agreed Rob, nice pour and crema - 'my goodness : my Guinness'.
Difficult to tell, listening thru my cheapo speakers, but it does seem to be quieter than the Zaff.

Yes I would say about 50% quieter once the rattles were fixed. Must say though the camera really picks up the sound!

Yes, the Espresso Blue blend does taste very good, all I know is that there is around 10% or less Robusta. The rest of the blend is his secret, but I think is Monsooned Malabar, Mocha, and a Brazillian of some kind, possibly a 4th bean as well, something slightly acidic/sweeter.

The crema production is nice for a 10% robusta blend, although after a few minutes, it reduces to around 8-10mm. However, it looks impressive when properly extracted. The results out of the double basket are, of course, even better
