Hello,
Yesterday, I went to my fav roaster in Paris (les gobelins) and found a special coffee available for christmas. It is a blend mainly based on wild grown Ethiopian beans. And they add spices !!
As I ground beans by myself, he gave me spices separatly ad I'll have to mix them after grinding the coffee bag...
This sounds so strange... We'll see if we get sick the day after christmas :)

they add spices

Do you know which ones he's given you?

Not one for the home roaster then! ;)
We'll see if we get sick the day after christmas

As long as it is spices he gave you, not minced turkey, I don't think the coffee will be to blame if you are ill.

Of course you can not roast a Turkey on a Hottop, it would dry it out too much. Bet Steve is roasting his over gas this Crimbo to help maintain the moisture?

Ethiopian beans are great for turkish coffee and adding a little cardamom, nutmeg, ginnger or cinammon can be great. But with yirgacheffe I wouldn't do that, I'd drink it as it is. With cheap brazilian beans however I'd gladly add one of the above mentioned spices. You need to be very careful with ginger, just a hint.
