Hello!

First post here!

Running out of beans and rather than getting them from my regular roaster I would like to try a different supplier. Where would you recommend and what beans to buy best for espresso and cappuccino?

Cheers!

Oh, sorry....

In the UK. I see there is plenty of mail order companies but I just want to know your favorites?

In case you haven't worked it out, Steve and HB are the roaster and roastery respectively. And if this is still too obscure, try reading this from our resources section. As for current bean favourites... that changes quite a lot during the year for many of us here, as crops change and our suppliers find (and rediscover) new estates. A number of members did in fact list what they are enjoying the most at the moment in the above thread.

Glad you found what you were looking for...

Uttering the name of the "Staffordshire Roaster" is considered bad luck round here... requiring the unfortunate fool to throw a kilo of dark roasted kenyan espresso blend over his or her shoulder and run three times round his/her grinder whilst chanting "Thrice around the grinder bound, *$ sink into the ground. Ducky"
They are an odd bunch around here ;-)

OR you could ask Steve to recommend a decent Kenyan for your espresso machine

I'm beginning to notice that all are odd, but some are odder than others. ;)

Depending on who utters the name of the Roaster Who Must Not Be Named they may also be required to roast their next batch very dark, roast their next batch very light, or use robusta beans in their next blend ;-)

Very noble of you and highly restrained

No truth then in the rumour that you are experimenting with your own version of Kopi Luwak from revolutionary new UK sources? :o
Word has it that you are feeding the "Moon" beans to some "Black Cats" with the promise of a high yield because the cats are totally s*** .......

Am I mad? You are all that separates me from coffee wilderness ........ I'll get my coat
