Artisan beta roasting software (Mac/Win) ready for download

Hi

The first beta release of the roasting software coordinated on http://www.home-barista.com/ is ready for download and testing. The devices supported at the present time are:

Omega HH806
Omega HH506RA
CENTER 309
Fuji PXR pid
Fuji PXG pid
Other devices will be added in the future.

There is no user guide or documentation yet, neither a mailing list (too early). Sorry for the lack of documentation. The door is open to people that want to document the software (or for any other reason).

That is great news, I just ordered an Omega device and will connect it to the probatino to log my roast, we'll see the result :D

We are happy to announce the new version of artisan 0.4.0. Some of the main changes include:

- improved CSV import/export
- K202 CSV support added
- adds localization support
- adds german, french, spanish, swedish, italian menu translations
- fixed cut-copy-paste on Mac and added cut-copy-paste menu
- LCD color configuration
- replay of events via background dialog
- relative times are used everywhere
- adds profile designer
- adds alarms
- more robust Arduino/TC4 communication
- bug fixes

The version 0.6 of Artisan for Windows, OS X and Linux is now available.

The most important changes and additions w.r.t. v0.5.x are as follows.

  • Monitoring-only mode reporting readings on LCDs without recording
  • Event sliders e.g. to control the Hottop heater and fan via the HT Roaster Interface
  • Extended alarms triggered by time and temperature on any curve
  • Flexible Modbus RTU support allowing temperature reading and device control
  • Curve smoothing and spike filtering
  • New localizations: Arabic, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Chinese and Hungarian
  • Windows installer, and icons on Windows and Linux

    Thanks GreenBean. One feature that is maybe of interest for this forum is the ability of Artisan to read and write RoastLogger profiles. Just a tiny step, but in the end we would like to see a standard universal roast profile format that is supported by all roast logging tools.
