Meaty coffee

Just wondering if any body else gets a meaty smell off their coffee just after its roasted , and what does this mean , what am i doing wrong ? Help!

Haha!

I sometimes get a stock/umami kind of smell from smelling the grounds. A bit like minestrone soup!

we had a kenyan at work which when ground smelt like tomato sauce from a pizza.

but i rarely get "meaty", not from fresh roasted nor fresh ground

I haven't experienced the "meaty" smell after roasting but am always intrigued by the smell just at the start of a roast. Always reminds me of those blue schoolgirls' knickers drying on a radiator.......could be just me of course. 8)

Tomato soup I remember some one finding once,. I get meaty sometimes of some of the Swiss water decafs, and some naturals sometimes, I don't think its a strange one to ge.t

I quite often find smoky bacon crisps in Old Brown Java aroma and taste.
