I don't need no CE sign - do you have another one for, uhm, "testing"? I would write some short-term / long-term reviews with pictures and transfer the money. Deal :-)?

In the US voltage is commonly an issue with home roasters due to the draw. They sell a cheap meter in the US called a "Kill A Watt" meter. You plug it in the outlet and plug your roaster into it to read the voltage. We can get a variac pretty cheap if the voltage is to low under a load. Here the voltage will effect your batch size.

Thanks for that Farm.
The problem we have here is exacerbated by the fact that most European countries should "theoretically" be on 230... which is far from being the case! I'm in London, where I do get 230v, so I then have to question which variant to go for! Ah the joys of bureaucracy.
This week I are feeling sleepy!

Steve wrote:I may be after a home roaster who has some time to put it through its paces once I've had a play for maybe a week, but someone who is good, so that rules you out Dom :)

I dont mean to offend you here Steve .... but choosing someone who is good is not the best idea in the world ..... a good roaster could roast beans well using a hairdrier.

What you really need to do is send one to a complete novice .... a BEan roasting fcukwit as it were.

If that person can roast with it, then surely thats all the praise the machine needs

To sumarise .... Send one to me ...... or get this thing up for sale come July !

I don't wish to put Matt or Johnny down but using a roaster involved sticking a plug in the wall sock and then switching it on, both operations that are well beyond their abilities. I have it on record that Matt tried baking his beans in the microwave and the tin exploded. As for Johnnie, well; he comes from Bristol, enough said.

just to inform you guys that the Behmor performs admirably in my home
even my dear old aunts expressed this weekend that the coffee at my place was excellent
(I was roasting Steve's HasBean Espresso Blend, to just into second crack)

What I like about the machine: that it's pretty consistent, and that you can hear the cracks clearly. Also: that they come at pretty dependable intervals. Like: first crack starts, you can be pretty sure that second crack will be starting about 2 minutes and ten or twenty seconds later.
This week I am eagerly anticipating the first god shots from my La Spaziale machine....

I'm keeping a close eye on this. My iRoast2 is just too short on the volume front. I can no longer keep up with the amount consumed in my home.
