Roaster control system

Postby Neo » Mon Nov 12, 2007 2:54 pm

Actually it might be a bit off-topic but anyways...
I wanna ask is there anyone who knows a bit electronics and is willing to give me some advice?
I am about to build a roaster next year and I have to know how to set up a control system thingy...
What I am thinking about is using a PID with a SSR to control the amount of gas supplied to the burner. But here comes a problem is that a PID can only set a fixed target temperature so I wanna know how can I set a time limit for it, so it will raise, eg, 10'C in 4 mins ? Or is there a method to do that by setting parameters?
i suppose PLC is too expensive for me... :?

thx in advance
