Just looking through old threads...did I really roast that dark??? So who still roasts here? I am purchasing another whist pop in a couple of weeks as the price of greens is very affordable again here.

I still enjoy roasting almost as much as drinking the results. The price of greens is certainly not getting more affordable up here. :( Perhaps it is time for me to reconsider which hemisphere I should be living on. :D

You did....you really did. However not nearly as dark as another revered member on this forum. His images of his roasts are indelibly engraved on my brain.

I roast (and we drink) 2-3 kilos per month. A lot of my roasts are quite dark as I am using beans that are not that subtle in flavour and since we only drink espresso and espresso-based milk drinks. I don't usually let the beans get oily, though.

Well here's the new attempt. Just a generic El Salvadorian with nice base notes of Cocoa and a good smoothness. Still through the Aeropress. The roast ran away a little as we are not on gas but halogen, but all sorted now. Good to see I still have what it takes to smoke the house out at 9am... ;)

Well worth it to produce some nice fresh roasted coffee.
