Having just read this I went and changed my filter.
I have done just under 30 roasts of decaf with it, and I expect Jim (my other half) has easily roasted as many caffeinated batches, so that’s about 60 roasts with the same filter.
I have (hopefully) included photos of the filter.
Can any one take a photo of theirs, when they change it so I can see the difference / or what it should look like, please? :?

Oh My! Errr... maybe that's where they should be at before they're changed... but I changed mine WELL before that... didn't take pics when I did though :( If I had to guess, I'd say mine were half-way to that state when I changed it :)

Nataleeps,
Edited the size down a bit for you, so people can see them easily and the forum, doesn't get blown out of size.

The filters are a real pain for me. I live in Norway and the shipping costs add significantly to the overall costs of replacing filters. Of course I could go ahead and buy 20 at a time but I haven`t.

I am toying with the idea of looking at HEPA filters(used in vacuum cleaners) as a replacement for the paper filter. I´ll need to do a bit of testing for flameabillity etc. but in theory it could work as that kind of filter has excellent airflow and particle properties.

Has anybody tried this before me?

This is my filter after 20 months use. It was still working ok but I rplaced it, because there was water dripping out of it, towards the end of the roast.
I'll swap it for Natleeps' old one 8)
