Who fancies a cupping course then?

I thought it might be an idea to approach Stephen Hurst of Mercanta to see how much it would cost us. Stephen does them for the SCAE, Carolyn tells me. Eeffoc, myself and Carolyn are members. Maybe we can work something out with him, depending on numbers. Venue would be the UK, I should think, probably Mercanta's permises in Kingston (not too far from Heathrow!!).

I haven't mentioned this to Mercanta yet as I don't want to wind them up on something only to find I'm the only one interested (not that I expect that outcome).

Please vote.

I just voted Yes. Thanks, it's a nice idea and I hope it works out.

I believe Sunday will include cupping but I'll be very surprised if I change my mind after that. Cost would be a factor if it's pretty hefty. Kingston is fine as a venue - I'd just like a venue closer to Hampshire this time!

Cheers,

Hugh

Good man. I thought you'd be interested. I think we all would in principle, it's just the travel logisitics that will put some people off.

I'd be interested too. I really enjoyed the last time we did it. Might be worth you and me sticking our heads together phil about this, as I am one of his customers it might have some more sway if we both approach.

I just said "I would like to, but can't attend." I can't attend this time...but as I've never done any cupping before, I'm very interested, and would love to attend the next one!

Just as an update, Eeffoc & I have agreed that as he's a Mercanta customer and I'm just this punk coffee geek, he's going to ask Mercanta about doing a course for us when he places his next order. I get the impression that this will be early next week, so let's firm up on numbers.

Those who want to come and can make it to a venue near London (South West) in the next month or two, please say. I expect there will be a cost involved, but we won't go ahead if it's silly. Let me know.

I am not a number.....

But I'm definitely interested; I'd like to know cost, assume venue is London.

Cheers,

Hugh

Assumed venue is Kingston which is where Mercanta hang out and have their cupping/trainig facilities. Trust me Hugh, you'll love it ...

Steve, just so there's no confusion, if you don't count me in I'll never talk to you again, OK?

BTW I'm expecting Eward to want to attend providing we're talking the next month or so. He's in Hong Kong at he moment, so I don't think he'll mind me speaking for him.

Anyone else who's close enough to make it? Chris? Alan, is this too far for you (day trip)?

I'd like to do it, but can't figure out how to vote!!! Obviously being stupid, so apologies - count me in if it's not too pricey. From memory I paid 150 Euros for my couses in Oslo but that was for 2/3 different ones.

Sorry Carolyn, one puts a vote up for a number of days and I guess it's expired. I'll see if I can extend it since we've had a few new members since the original posting.

(Footnote : a few mintes later - I've edited the posting to extend the vote.
