vac pot burning liquid

Postby fred25 » Wed Feb 07, 2007 8:35 pm

This might be the most stupid question ever, but what spirit/oil should I use in a cona table model? I recently got a B table model and I'm dying to try it... without creating explosions! :)

BTW, due to the vagaries of the buy I have a spare D Jug that I can't use... if anyone's interested, please PM me!

To use the Cona vac pot first fill the spirit burner with methylated spirits. Place the wick and wickholder in position. Allow some time for the wick to absorb the fuel (you get about 6-8 uses from one fill of the burner so you will not have to refill the burner every time you brew!).

Alan! :P . I was thinking about you yesterday because of all the snow and wondering how bad it might be up your way, then thinking you had not posted for a while. Good to see you :D

Hi Cakey,thanks for the thought.
yeh,I've been out of circulation a bit recently, though I have looked in from time to time, nosing about.
I expect it to continue like that,so won't be making much of a contribution for a while. :(
Just thought I'd point fred in the right direction

The snow wasn't too bad but enough of an excuse to stay off work.Woohoo....
Cheers.....Alan

i use my camping gas burner and i`m quite satisfied with the results, i start off with warmer than average water to reduce the time needed to reach the vapouring phase though... still, works for me..

Works fine with camping utensils but have to confess I haven't tried it with a vac pot.
