Zassenhaus grinder

Postby Joris » Thu Jul 06, 2006 8:22 pm

I bought a zassenhaus grinder off ebay and it arrived today, nice and clean, the conical burrs were not chipped or something, fairly even grind.

I coughed up the hefty sum of 13 eur for it incl shipping so that's not too bad is it ?

Looks nice and clean Joris. They are a very good grinder and I can grind a double in 1.25 mins. However, my adjuster sometimes creeps finer during the grind, but a couple of spots of black paint, by way of reference, will cure this problem. Mines a 151 model, so may not be an issue with yours.

Hi

I bought a Zass grinder off ebay brand new for £20. Couldn't tell you what model number it is other than it says Moka on it, although I was told it retails at £50. So I think 13 euro is a very good price. After some initial teething problems it has served me well. Although now that I am grinding more and more coffee it is becoming a bind particularly when grinding on the finest settings for my new Aeropress (another good buy). So probably now in the market for an electric one.

regards
Colin

I tried it out for the presspot this morning... does the job pretty allright me thinks. This one will travel with me to family, friends, short holidays... basically everywhere where a decent cup is hard (or impossible) to find. Now if I could just get me another one to leave at the office ;)

Great deal Joris, I bought one a while back and they are very good like all German engineered things.
Bezzera B3000A, Giotto Premium, several Cona's, several Balance Brewers, Atomic, Milano etc,
Aristarco, Rancilio MD 40, Ditting and Eureka MCI grinders, several antique roasters, a mini500/800N propane/electric Taiwanese roaster, greens all over the place...and some other unmentionables that have not been mentioned......

Nice deal, Joris! My own new Zassenhaus is already hanging in my girlfriends kitchen and is lovely for Mokkapot and French press ... these grinders last!
Looks good, eh?

Looks very nice indeed.... mine are all "hold between your knees and crank" type of grinders so I can't hang them on the wall...
