December Coffee Update!

Postby Steve » Wed Dec 06, 2017 4:49 pm

OK sooooo I've added quite a few new coffees recently! Rather than bothering you all with a stream of updates I thought I'd save a bigger one until the bulk of them were ready, and that time is NOW :D

Guatemala El Limon Washed Caturra
Lemon, lime, milk chocolate
In the cup expect a super hit of lemon and lime, then it pushes blood orange into the citrus party. Hints of milk chocolate can’t hide the beautiful crisp acidic finish.
£6.50 for 250g

Christmas Espresso Blend
In the cup you get an insight into my Christmas - dark Chocolate, dried fruit, boozy and orange peel. Yes that's the Steve Leighton Christmas in coffee descriptors!
£6.50 for 250g

Christmas Filter Blend
In the cup this delicate flower of a coffee has lemon rind, a sugar type sweetness and a big bunch of flowers that hit you in your mouth on the finish.
£6.50 for 250g

Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Funky Natural Yellow Pacamara
Fermented orange, Morello cherry, umami
In the cup the best words we found for this coffee are obscenely and obnoxious. Beware - you will love or hate this coffee with fermented oranges, Morello cherries with a reminder of a lambic beer before finishing with a big umami hit. Not for the light hearted buyer BEWARE!!
£9.50 for 250g

Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Natural Yellow Pacamara
Raspberry jam, tinned peach, funk
In the cup this is raspberry jam with chunks of tinned peaches, a creamy mouthfeel and a whole slice of James Brown funk at the end. ... w-pacamara
£9.50 for 250g

Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Pulped Natural Yellow Pacamara
Yellow plum, white sugar, pineapple
In the cup this is dominated by yellow plums and white sugar with an aftertaste of pineapple and hints of fruity hops too.
£9.50 for 250g

Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Washed Yellow Pacamara
New Zealand hops, apricot, grapefruit
In the cup this is a heavily hopped IPA of a coffee, DDH coffee! New Zealand hops, sweet apricot and grapefruit leaves me craving a real hop monster of a beer!
£9.50 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca El Potrero Black Honey Bourbon
Watermelon, lime zest, red apple
In the cup expect a smash of watermelon, with lime zest acidity and a red apple sweetness. But wait til' the end when you get a silky, thick and chewy mouthfeel.
£7.50 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca El Potrero Natural Bourbon
Red grape, strawberry, fruity red Zinfandel
In the cup red grape acidity is overtaken by what I can only describe as a red strawberry Quality Street sweetness and a fruity Zinfandel red wine finish.
£8.50 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca El Potrero Red Honey Bourbon
Stewed peach, plum, pear
In the cup syrupy, thick and gloopy are all words that pop into my head. Cooked fruit in stewed peaches and plums with a clean sharp fresh pear finish.
£7.50 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca El Potrero White Honey Geisha
Jelly Tots, jasmine, floral
In the cup this takes me right back to Jelly Tots - white sugar, fruit sweetness with jasmine and floral notes that just get better and better the more it cools.
£11.00 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca El Potrero Yellow Honey Bourbon
Orange juice, milk chocolate, strawberry
In the cup this reminds me of a Terry's Chocolate Orange but with extra orange juice thrown in. Milk chocolate, orange with a sweet strawberry finish.
£7.50 for 250g

Costa Rica Finca Licho Honey Pacamara
Nectarine, candyfloss, poached pear
In the cup expect fresh nectarine acidity at the beginning, where you think its going to be sharp and crisp. Then it takes a speedy right turn into white sugar and candyfloss with a syrupy mouthfeel that finishes with poached pear.
£12.00 for 250g

When Brian Met Ale (Wildcard)
In the cup two friends meet. Chocolate sweetness of El Salvador and white wine of Kenya push against each other to make this unique blend. The aftertaste finishes with Horlicks and white grape.
£7.50 for 250g
