Module separation

Postby motoman » Mon Dec 01, 2014 12:36 pm

Keeping up my Huston theme, I have a new problem.

I have a lovely wooden handle (thanks Les) for my Naked portafilter (cheers Eric), the old handle thread has welded itself solid to the to the top. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try boiling the whole filter with handle. Then stick the metal part in ice water, wait a minute and try to turn it out. It should have shrunk enough to let go. Otherwise, GABH*

I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

If it is anything like one of my portafilters you may need a very large hammer indeed  I tried to remove the handle some years ago. The good news is that I did not break it but that is only because I gave up after using much more force than was sensible :?

I have actually put the filter in a vise and used a plumber's wrench on the handle with success.
