Too Much Coffee

Hi Guys, I'm moving house in the next month, and the only thing playing on my mind is that there is no where in the kitchen to plumb in the Pavoni.

There are cabinets at head height all round the room so there not enough clearence between the counter and these to get the Pav in.

Is it slightly worrying that being as I'm moving house and that this is reportedly the most stressful thing you can do, that not being able to plumb in an espresso machine is really the only thing thats worrying me?

So I'd like to avoid selling to, and was wondering since the machine is vibe pump powered rather than rotary, if I could gravity feed it. Its the same ULKA pump that a Silvia uses.

If its possible I could work out some kind of coffee cart, and wheel it from room to room as the need arrises

That should not be a problem provided you ensure the pump does not run dry. I would suggest you keep the water tank (a 5 litre water bottle makes a nice tank) at the same level as the Pub i.e. not below it on the cart. If you add a non return valve to the end of the water inlet it will ensure the water line remain full whist changing the water tank. These are suitable as they present a very low pressure drop. You would need to ensure the inlet can not be blocked and keep an eye on the water tank to ensure it does not run empty.

My memory is terrible these days but give Scott at Happy Dinkey a nudge. He explained how to pump from a water container. I think the pump was under £100. Sorry, I can't remember more
