Backflushing

Postby dolcevita » Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:22 am

Hello all,
I had thought that my Gaggia Coffee Deluxe was on its way out before I had a mooch around and read about backflushing. I regularly descale as I live in a very hard water area, but hadn't backflushed before.

Anyhow, thanks to Happy Donkey's instructions on their website and 3 lots of backflushing (it was badly blocked), my Gaggia is now lovely and perky and is producing a better crema than it has for a couple of years. I also noticed that the constant water leakage from the steam wand has stopped, too, so presumably the backflushing has cured that too.

As ever, TMC saves the day - thanks everyone.
