Yeah, probably. The music industry has copyrighted the sound of pressure actuated mercury switches switching boilers on and off. "It's music to some peoples ears," they said, "so it belongs to us." :P
Three Francesconi (CMA) espresso machines - Rossi, San Marco, LaCimbali, Faema and 2 Mazzer Major grinders- CoffeeTech Maggionlino, Hottop, Alpenröst and HW Precision roasters.
I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

With ideas as good as that I expect the music industry will be beating a path to your door to offer you a job soon Bruce. :D

Oh, they've already hired me. They liked the idea of copyrighting first crack so much they're now talking to me about second...not to mention Cakey singing for muffins.

I was more thinking along the lines of a picture of a Conti will be copyrighted by Conti Corporation, therefore the picture itself is piracy.

At last!
The Conti is in pieces on my bench.

It has all come apart really easily apart from 2 broken boiler-plate studs.
I think I got off lightly.

Not too much scale but what's there is well attached and is taking a good few days soaking in acid to soften.

I have also discussed with Chris the possibility of retro-fitting an auto-fill probe/relay/solenoid set-up which seems like a sensible mod.

Pics to follow...

The Empress is now fully dismantled and I've started the clean-up process.

Here is the frame, ready to be cleaned up and painted.

The groups, springs and pistons were pretty dirty with dried up old grease.

Inside the group. The cylinder bore appears to be in good condition.

Drifted the small needle roller bearings from the lever mech. I will be replacing these with new items.

These bearings look pretty tired as well.

Let's pull them out too.

Whooooosh! You've got a good bit of work to do there! We know from the past, however, that you are well up to the task. Good luck and keep the pictures coming. Thanks!
