These old studs will need to come out.
I've got 3 of 8 so far.
Work in progress...

I'm waiting for a delivery from Doug & Barb at Orphan Espresso http://www.orphanespresso.com where I managed to pick up nearly everything needed 8)
Group to boiler gaskets and seal kits for the taps and sightglass.

I couldn't find a boiler gasket to fit the Empress' 7 hole layout off the shelf so I'll be custom cutting one.
First one will be cut from 3mm silicone as I'll need the boiler endplate off again in the near future to fit the level probe. I'll replace that with a fibre gasket at the time.

Meanwhile, the groups, springs and pistons have come up pretty clean. Boiler is going for one more hot dip to get rid of the remaining thin film of scale.

So, hopefully I'll be able to start building this machine back up this week.

Got the new bearings. Thanks to the guys at http://www.fiveways-bearings.co.uk/.

Spent most of yesterday removing those studs. 3 left -snapped flush with flange. I'm drilling them out. Very carefully.
