It is good to be reminded that the production of caffein in plants developed due to it's beneficial effects (to the plant) as an insecticide.

I needed an insecticide the other day as my conservatory was invaded by ants. I seem to have won the battle for the moment but if they return I will try a different approach, I will make them a cup of coffee. :D

I always frown a little when people focus on the caffeine side of coffee. I know it's a great pick me up (especially when stacked with a theanine pill for focus) but really I would still drink it by the gallon (infact moreso) without the caffeine. (With some other non caffeine compound replacing caffeines bitter flavour to preserve taste).

I deliberately avoid patterns and quantities of intake which would lead to addiction.
