WBC London 2010, 23-25 June at Olympia - LIVE STREAMING

Postby CakeBoy » Sat May 15, 2010 9:28 am

The World Barista Championship 2010 takes place at the Caffe Culture event at Olympia in London from 23-25 June between approximately 0930 and 1800 BST each day.

As everyone knows, the current World Champion is our own Gwilym 'The Cap' Davies, and amongst those competing this year are fellow TMCers, Colin Harmon (Irish Champion) and John Gordon (UK Champion). Both will be using Has Bean roasts, so expect even more frenetic rushing about from the ginger one in the 'shirt'.

Full details of competitors, running order and live internet streaming will be added in due course.

Meanwhile, why not visit the official WBC site, and you can still register for free tickets for the Caffe Culture show, but don't leave it until the last minute or you may end up having to pay for entry.

Just managed to register (for a free ticket).

Anyone going on Wednesday?
Unfortunately, I will only be able to go after work. Should be getting there around 4:45. Most of the WBC should be finished by then, but at least I should have the chance to browse a bit.

Does anyone know if it's fine to take photos?

The start times each day are before the show starts at 9:30. Will we be able to get in to watch the first few of the day?

Oi Mark, we need to put together a list for the AWC as well, so that we all know when to turn up to cheer for the Hoff and jeer at the Hooligan.

The semi-finals lineup has been announced. We will post the full list of 12 shortly. TMC'er Colin Harmon has made it through. Congratulations to him and dest wishes for tomorrow :)

A mention for John Gordon as well. He performed impressively yesterday and was thought to be a certainty for qualification. A tough break for an excellent UK Champion.

A superb performance by Colin followed by an interview with The Hoff in which he said "Coffee saved me from a life of mediocity". Got to love him. In fact reading the stream chat, the whole world loves him. Top man :D

Colin and Steve both seem really happy. From only 10 feet away Colin seemed in his element. Well done mate! Just need to see how Walsh has done now.
If anyone sees me, do come up and say hi. I am all booked up for interviews though, thank-you gwilym :P
