in-line filters

Postby dsc » Sat Jun 06, 2009 5:08 pm

Hi everyone,

I currently have my Elektra plumbed in and I'm using a big Brita filter/softener on the deliver line. The problem with that is the age of the filter which is probably more then a year and I'm worried that it's actually causing more bad than good. I currently have soft water in the flat so I don't really need a softener but would still like to filter the water to get rid of bad taste and particles. I know some people here use the Everpure combos, but that's a bit too expensive for me to be honest and so I was thinking of using something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMNIPURE-12-MONTH ... 0281951990

It's a carbon activated in-line filter which is apparently quite good (if you believe what the description says) and should last for a while. I doubt it will last for a whole year but it's quite cheap so it shouldn't be a problem change it ever 6months or so.

Anyone here tried this type of filter or something similar?

Regards,
dsc.
