There's a coffee cocktail named after me!

I found out this morning that there's a coffee cocktail called "Dr. Zeus" !

Dr Zeus
A cocktail fit for a king (of the Gods). Fill an Old Fashioned glass with ice, and add a small shot of Fernet Branca. Seperately, muddle a small handful of raisins in a shaker, half fill the shaker with ice, and add a large (60ml) shot of Cognac, a dash of sugar syrup, a dash of Kahlua and a dash of orange bitters. Empty the Old Fashioned glass. Now shake the contents of the shaker, and strain into the glass.

How about that? :)

Apparently so. I would just replace it with a ristretto, though. :)

Ever added a ristretto to a stout?

Coffee and beer? I would never have thought of it! What's it like?

Now a ristretto and a brandy, that's another matter.

(Geez, I wish I had my Gaggia back!)

One of these days (after I get an espresso machine) I'll try it again, but when I lived in Seattle, I used to drop a ristretto into any good stout and it was really good. A local brewery, Red Hook, actually used to market one of their beers with a shot of Starbucks in it.

I don't recommend you do it with anything other than a dark beer, however. Dark beer...dark coffee...dark chocolate...(dark women?) all tend to lend themselves to each other quite naturally.

Guiness Foreign Extra stout (not the normal stuff) has a wonderful taste including coffee - if you ever see any, do try it.

We only get the "normal" Guiness here, and it's really expensive. Other than that, there are relatively few beer choices. :( I miss the micro-breweries I had access to.
