a few days ago I noticed a part which can be quite easily used as a steam tip:
it's an ending for welding handles. The thread (m6) is too big for my aluminium steam wand, but I can always rethread it to m5. It's made from some copper alloy, so it's fairly soft, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be ok in contact with water, steam and milk. I mean will it handle all this or corode?
I am also thinking of designing my own steam tip, pretty similar to the one on the picture above, but made from stainless steel. Here's a CAD image:
the description is in polish, "gora" means upper view, "dol" bottom view. "Gwint" means thread and "bok" side. See you can even learn some polish words this way:)
Anyway do you think the shape is ok, or should I change something? This tip would fit nicely on my 6mm steam wand and would be really easy to clean.
Oh and I'm working on a Gaggia Classic, so one hole is really enough.
