When my significant other drinks coffee it's...

Equipment, technique, or just drinking the stuff

What does your better half drink?

Same as me: ristretto/espresso/the good stuff, and we just love quacking about it all day.

When my significant other drinks coffee it's...

What does your girlfriend, partner, wife, husband, lover drink for kicks? Did you educate him/her to appreciate the finer hazelnut subtastes of a double ristretto, or is it strictly watery drip for him/her?
This week I am eagerly anticipating the first god shots from my La Spaziale machine....

And I guess I'm a lucky bastard, as K loves a double ristretto, and we generally *are* quacking all day about food, wine and coffee.

K sounds wonderful!!

I've definitely corrupted Allyson in that she loves good coffee, but her tastes are not the same as mine. She prefers press pot or americano with milk (horror!) or a cappa. Coffees which I consider tasty she thinks are less interesting, possibly because the milk kills the subtleties.

However, everyone (including Katie, my daughter (who is nearly 20 now)) likes a good Moka/Java blend. Subtle as a kick in the private parts, so no-one can say it isn't tasty! Katie has tastes closer to mine actually, as she loves a good double ristretto - but I'm still working on her tastes in Kenyans for example. We both adore Smithfarms Kona though (thanks Eeffoc :-)).

Neku, I haven't voted because "we both love coffee, but not the same coffees or coffee preparations" is not a category.

My wife, while she likes my coffee, prefers the social aspects of going to a cafe. Unfortunately, the cafe's here all stink (and I mean REALLY BAD coffee...I've ranted about this before). Plus, unless it's press pot (which I usually make), we don't have a way of making coffee for two. It's on my xmas list to get a 2- or 3-cup moka pot...as well as a Zass. :)

French press or fairly milky cappuccino (6 oz. milk pre-frothing to 2 oz. espresso) with a bit of sugar for my wife. Even a good straight espresso won't work for her, far too strong.
This wasn't an option in the poll so I didn't vote.

Cheers,

Hugh

I can't add options, it seems. Too bad! I'll try better next time.

Neku, you didn't look hard enough methinks. Just edit the post and scroll down a bit.

There, I've done it for you.

My g/f's taste has been spoiled by my hobby, but she is not a big coffee-fan. Typically it will be an americano. Frankly, the americanos are quite nice, and much better than a lungo!
