The line people see first will be whatever you choose to stress... it depends on the layout of your business card, the font, size, colour, blah blah.

But I understand the point that you're still not happy with the offered suggestions. So once that magic "line" is concocted, it's a matter of what you want to highlight on your business card.

Personally, I'd rather highlight my business name... because you can't "own/trademark" the name of the "line" because it's too general... so if your competitors (competent or not) choose to do so, they can also use it... then how are you going to differentiate yourself from them paper-wise?

This name will be of far more importance if it's a stichting type thingy that allows membership only according to strict guidelines. And then only if people actually realise there's a stichting or have an understanding of what it is.

It wasn't very clear earlier, so let me make sure I'm addressing it properly. You want the emphasis on Specialty Coffee and then secondarily on roasting it? If so, then a fancier synonym for (goed)gekeurd? I thought of bijzonder... but bad can also be bijzonder

Good tip from Jo2 about inspiration from wineries.... like Reserva.

What about your plans on your own business.

Still having some challenges finding a new location and someone who can help financing... Other than that i have decided to take the chance and at least try to go through with it until i am absolutely out of options... I am not giving up yet...

I still think that

Meesterbrander van keurkoffies

of

Meesterbrander van exclusieve koffiesoorten

fits the bill

Jo2... let's talk soon to discuss some input I've received so far from a cousin banker (unfortunately for me, in Australia) and other successful horeca owners in my area. I'll probably have more after my trip too :)

Okay, thanks all for thinking with me about my trouble in finding a good term for Specialty Coffee Roaster

Till now we have the following Dutch terms;
Koffie-speciaalbranderij

ambachtelijke koffiebranderij

ambachtelijke koffiebranders

brander van zeer exclusieve koffiesoorten

brander van kwaliteitskoffies

kwaliteitskoffies, exclusief gebrand door

kwaliteitsbranderij

Vers gebrande koffie uit selecte import

de Mélangerie
'exclusieve koffiebonen, ambachtelijk gebrand'

But still the problem with all these GREAT terms is that it doesn't cover the story.

Suppose you're walking in a city and you see a coffee retail store (see photo) with a roaster in front of the window and on the window there now is a term called Koffie- en Thee Speciaalzaak, you think well nice I can buy coffee over here.

But I need to convince you to buy special selected coffee like the Cup of Excellence, Crop of Gold or Exceptional Cup coffee. What should be on that window to have you as our customer.

We also need to keep in mind that it should not give you the idea of expensive coffee retail store, with only exclusive and rare coffee.

I know I first told that I need it for my business card, but it has te be the subtitle of our store just like "Nike, Just Do It".

"Vers gebrand... dus lekkerder!"

"Koffie... zo van het land... vers gebrand!"

"Ruik het... Proef het... Beleef het..."

pfffff... i'm empty for now...

ok... one more...

"een bes... een boon... een belevenis..."

or if you will...

"bes... boon... brander... belevenis..."

Sorry to bomb you with phrases... i'm just thinking "out loud" here...

Why don't you make a contest out of it... Make your customers (guests) do the thinking for you and let them win something...

Well, we're close to perfection. 78 terms to go for we reach 100. Then we should have the right one. But we float away from the subject. I need a translation for Specialty Coffee Roaster
