I have just aquired a Bezzera 'Milano' that has been retired from commercial service and although it makes a great style statement in the kitchen I fully intend to use it, although I'm not sure whether it is serviceable yet.'
Anybody got an owners manual and/or service instructions they're willing to share, also any knowledge of where to get bits?
As I'm also completely new to making 'proper' coffee can anybody point me to a suitable forum or thread? |

Which model is the Bezzera? Is it a lever machine? How many groups does it have? What year? Bezzera made the first espresso machine ever in 1901 so there are a lot of models out there.  |

OK - Here goes (I live in the UK (NE Derbys) but I'm working in Holland - hence the delay in replying)
The plate on the front has the following info; No. 60050, V 240 and also the figures 186. It is most definately a lever m/c - if that is the large handle sticking out of the top ( Pity me - I said I was new!)? and if groupings (I just adore jargon) means how many dispense stations there are, then its a single.

I have delt with them, they are OK but very expensive for parts. If you can deal with specialist part suppliers/service agents who will probably be more infsed to advies you (I didn't find anyone at Butres who seemed to have any enthusiam for coffee, they just seemed to distribute parts).
The question is how handy are you with mains voltage and high presure water systems? If you are up for this then do a search on the internet for the manual, you could try some of these for resourses.

Well, I'm envious! It's a wonderful spring/lever machine that will serve you well when you get it installed. I would not assume that anything is wrong with it unless you know for certain that it has problems.
You will need a good grinder to go with it. Otherwise it will remain more of a decorative piece.
Is it plumbed in yet? Have you filled the boiler with water?
One thing that will need replacing is the portafilter (brewhead) gasket, a rubber ring that seals the portafilter when you twist it on. Parts should be available here.
If you have specific questions ask them here. TMC member Zapty has a Bezzera B3000A that is similar, but he is not active on the forum at this time.
